Abby,
Certified Jivamukti Teacher, RYT, ERYT, Partner - House Of
Yoga
When I was eighteen, I visited my Aunt in Encinitas, Ca. who introduced me to
her Guru, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. With Gurumayi, I chanted Om Namah Shivaya
during a transformational weekend in her loving presence. Her energy resurfaced
in my life, years later, when I realized I was following the path of yoga. The
practice of Ashtanga led me to find Jivamukti Yoga. I completed my second
teacher training in Spring 2005 with David Life and Sharon Gannon, founders of
the Jivamukti method, with their blessings, I share this amazing gift of
yoga.

Dave,
RYT + ERYT
Partner
- House Of Yoga
I believe
that the ultimate goal of yoga is self realization and increased
strength and flexibility are simply the natural results of consistent
practice. The physical practice is a means to greater health and
balance, eventually leading to an exploration of the more subtle
aspects of yoga as taught in the yoga sutra.

Danielle,
RYT
Danielle started practicing yoga in the mid-90s. Over
the years, her practice has evolved to a daily practice. Her
primary practice is Ashtanga. In 2008, she spent a month in
Mysore, India, studying Ashtanga with the Jois family. Danielle
believes that physical, mental, and spiritual transformation
and transcendence of the ego are possible when someone fully
commits themselves to yoga (or any spiritual practice).

"Through yoga, we practice balancing the body,
suspending the mind and opening the heart. Yoga allows us to

Tammy,
RYT
I began my personal journey with Yoga four years ago. Seeing
the amazing benefits the energy had in my life, I continued my
practice and followed the path to become a Registered Yoga Teacher.
With the intention of guiding students in their own growth and
locating the divine inside themselves,
I encourage students to
make personal choices in their yoga practice and to develop skills
to help them listen to their bodies. Leading students to discover
body awareness, establish a relationship with their breath, and
develop a compassionate and joyful attitude towards themselves
and the world around, them this is my inspiration and mission.

April
I have always been intrigued by natural health and ancient
cultures which led me to study Anthropology in college. It was there
that I was introduced to yoga but it wasn't until after having my
2nd child that I was truly drawn to it. I soon learned yoga was not
a respite from family life but a system and guide for living a more
peaceful and balanced life.
I was fascinated by the deeper
history and philosophy of the practice and enrolled in teacher training
to learn more. I have been teaching and sharing my love of
of yoga for over 6 years. Thanks to all the wonderful teachers that
have passed on their wisdom and experience to me.

Jeff,
RYT
I have combined the practice of psychology with the joy
of practicing and teaching yoga for over ten years. I've taught at
studios throughout the metro detroit area and presented at the midwest
yoga conference in chicago in 2008. I love/struggle with my daily
practice of yoga and my concept of what yoga is has changed and evolved
over these years of practice. I love all types of yoga but my tapas
has always been based in ashtanga vinyasa yoga. |
