team teach both the Yoga Lifestyles and Teacher Training Programs.

Yoga Lifestyles Program. (part I of Teacher Training)
Begins September 7, 2008

This course is designed to assist you in deepening your knowledge of yoga. This program is open to everyone interested in integrating yoga into everyday life.

Enrollment is limited to 15 students

• patanjali's yoga sutras
• ethical foundations: yamas + niyamas
• vegetarianism + social activism
• ayurvedic principles + healthy eating
• subtle anatomy: nadis + chakras
• chanting + mantra
• pranayama and meditation
• stress management skills
• developing a personal yoga practice
• yoga as a spiritual practice

Teacher Training Program (part II)
Begins October 5, 2008
This program is for those who wish to learn more about teaching yoga and/or become nationally registered yoga teachers.Students must complete the Yoga LIfestyles Program if they wish to continue on for Teacher Training.

Students will learn the skills necessary to teach the traditional practices of yoga including asana, pranayama, chanting and meditation, with confidence and integrity. Students will learn the basic elements of Hatha Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga.

15 Sundays, Noon - 5:00 pm
begins October5, 2008

overview:
• study of ancient texts:
• Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutra
• how to bring these teachings into the classroom
• teaching: sun salutations
• standing poses, seated poses
• backbends and inversions
• teaching for special needs: pregnancy, the elderly
• teaching meditation and pranayama
• sequencing asanas for basic or vinyasa class
• safe and effective verbal and hands-on adjustments

Teacher Training Tuition: $1,550
(part II of Teacher Training)

House Of Yoga Teacher Training Course Binder
18 classes: attending as a student
(you will receive an 18 class pass)
6 classes: observing teacher
6 classes: leading or assisting community yoga class
3 feedback sessions with teacher
